Showerheads
If you haven't replaced your showerheads in several years, you could save 2 gallons per minute or more. Multiply
that by the length of your average shower and see how your savings could add up!
Look for showerheads that carry the WaterSense
label (using 2.0 GPM or less) and be sure not to alter the flow regulator. If you've purchased a showerhead recently,
it's most likely a water-saving model.
Faucet Aerators
Faucet aerators mix air with water to reduce the water a fixture puts out without reducing water pressure.
You use less water without noticing a thing! Faucet aerators for kitchen (2.2 gpm or less) and bath (1.0 gpm or less) are available at most home improvement stores.
Look for faucet aerators that carry the WaterSense
label. WaterSense labeled faucets and
faucet accessories (such as aerators) are high-performing, water-efficient fixtures.
If every household in America installed a WaterSense labeled faucet or aerator, we could
save more than 60 billion gallons of water annually.
