Watershed Facts
- In response to citizen complaints, investigators
find an average of seven pollution spills each year in Dry North
Creek; the most common spill type is sewage, followed by construction
wastes.
- The highest portion of Dry North Creek watershed
drains to the environmentally sensitive Edwards Aquifer Recharge
Zone where water travels through caves and sinkholes to “recharge”
the aquifer.

community is fair, diatom community is good |
- Absence of pollution-intolerant diatom species
suggests water quality may be impacting aquatic life.
- Despite heavy residential development, Dry
Creek North is a high gradient stream with significant habitat
and thick canopy cover. .
- High nitrate and conductivity may be
result of groundwater impacts from seep and spring inputs.
