| Austin is one of the few cities in the
country that studies each of its creeks, giving us a good comparison
of urban versus undeveloped streams with detailed information about
flooding, erosion and water quality. The
City of Austin has developed a Watershed
Viewer using GIS (Geographical Information System) mapping
technology to allow you to find your watershed and learn about
the health of your creek.
- See a map or aerial view of your watershed,
(If you don’t live in Austin, you can view the State Capitol
under Find Your Watershed.)
- Find out whether or not you live in the recharge
zone of the Edwards Aquifer. (*Recharge Zone: where water enters
the Edwards Aquifer directly through sinkholes, caves and fractures.)
- Learn more about your creek’s water
quality issues
Learn more about watersheds in our Watershed
brochure. You can also learn more about the Austin's Creek
watersheds.
