FIELD OPERATIONS

The Field Operations Program staff remove excessive vegetation, debris, sediment, and obstructions to stormwater flow from the City's open waterways, flood control ponds, water quality ponds, bridges, and culverts. It also inspects, cleans, and rehabilitates the City's storm sewer pipes, inlets, and ponds.

Staff investigate citizens' drainage concerns and perform regular inspections of open waterways. They also plan all drainage facility maintenance activities, and manage the department's fleet of vehicles and equipment.

If you see major obstructions such as downed trees or telephone poles in a creek, or a blocked culvert or bridge opening, call 512-974-3355 day or night.
