The Bull Creek Study is designed to monitor the impacts on water quality and aquatic life from urbanization activities in the watershed. The quality of water in Bull Creek is of special interest because it flows into Lake Austin, which is our primary drinking water reservoir. Some of the headwater stream reaches and tributaries of Bull Creek serve as habitat for the Jollyville salamander (Eurycea tonkawae), a truly native and endemic Central Texas species.
