Scoop the Poop

Program Details
The Watershed Protection & Development Review and Parks & Recreation Departments have teamed up to help clean up parks and creeks. Look for Mutt Mitt dispensers in many of your favorite park locations including the Town Lake hike and bike trail. Mutt Mitts are designed to make scooping poop painless. Simply follow the directions on the dispenser box and throw the bag in the trash.

There are approx 115 Scoop the Poop boxes installed throughout the city. At approximately 0.25 lbs. of pet waste per bag, we believe we are removing an estimated 135,000 lbs. of waste and the related bacteria from our watersheds a year. Download a Scoop the Poop Flyer for Distribution.
