Scoop the Poop

Program History
The Watershed Protection and Parks and Recreation Departments have teamed up to help clean up parks and creeks. Look for Mutt Mitt dispensers in many of your favorite park locations including the Lady Bird Lake hike and bike trail. Mutt Mitts are designed to make scooping poop painless. Simply use the bag as a glove, scoop the poop, and throw the bag in the trash.

There are approx 115 Scoop the Poop boxes installed throughout the city. At approximately 0.5 lbs. of pet waste per bag, we are removing an estimated 1 million lbs. of waste and the related bacteria from our parks a year. Download a Scoop the Poop Flyer for Distribution.
